Sacred Travel to Northern India

December 26, 2009 – January 6, 2010

From December 26th to January 6th a band of sacred travelers from Wright had the opportunity to explore their relationship with spirit and learning to live sacredly as they explored the wonders and mysteries of ancient and current spiritual India . . . the sacred splendor of the Golden Temple of the Sikhs in Amritsar, the majesty and beauty of the Taj Mahal, the wisdom of the spiritual teachers at the ashrams in Rishikesh (where the Beatles studied in the '60s), the ancient sacred Hindu rituals on the banks of the River Ganges in Varanasi, the powerful peace and sanctity of the site of the origin of Buddhism in Sarnath, the magnificent Buddhist monasteries in the Deer Park (the famous site of Buddha's first sermon), the vast array of spiritual sites and experiences in Delhi from the poignancy of Ghandi's memorial, the uplifting ornate Hindu temples, and the sacred peace of mystical Sufism of Islam.

There they studied with some of India's beloved spiritual teachers, visited sacred shrines and temples, investigated Indian culture, discovered the secrets of ancient temples and sacred shrines, delved into the many facets of Indian spirituality, and immersed themselves in spiritual questions.
